If those 1,000+ individuals that saw our campaign in the first 24 hours were to each donate $49 by midnight tonight, Hazel and Joe would wake up tomorrow morning to find that they had exceeded their campaign goal.

Three days ago as of this writing, MOS co-founders Joe Horn and Hazel Stark launched their very first crowdfunding campaign for Inreach/Outreach (I/O). Within 24 hours, over 1,000 people saw the campaign, roughly a dozen people donated, and we raised about $1,300! Those first 24 hours were pivotal in sending the I/O campaign off in the right direction. Now 72 hours into our campaign we have generated over $2,100 in donations!
First, let me say a HUGE thank you to all those individuals that have donated thus far. It is support like that which you have given us that lets us know that I/O will launch seamlessly this fall! So again, thank you!
Much like this chick that young Hazel Stark is holding, our campaign is just 3 days old right now!
Here are some numbers for you: If those 1,000+ individuals that saw our campaign in the first 24 hours were to each donate $49 by midnight tonight, Hazel and Joe would wake up tomorrow morning to find that they had exceeded their campaign goal. This would, of course, ensure the successful launch of MOS’s I/O program. More importantly than simply “launching” I/O, the success of this campaign will help students in Downeast Maine envision and enact a resilient future for themselves and their communities.
How much would you donate to ensure the resilience of an entire community?
