Haley Estabrook

Naturalist Educator

Haley grew up in Maine and spent her childhood summers enjoying the outdoors at her family’s camp or on an outer island in Blue Hill Bay. Rain Perez

Executive Assistant and Marketing Wizard

Raised by two small business owners in the coastal town of Lubec, Maine, Rain’s life and ideology have been driven by the connection of business and community. Growing up in a rural area implanted an elevated appreciation for “sense of place” and what that means both in physical locality and social embrace. Rain has worked with various community-oriented organizations and businesses in Maine, both as an employee and as a volunteer, including Lubec Memorial Library, The Whole Health Center, and the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. She focused in philosophy at the College of the Atlantic, and continues to pursue educational opportunities in marketing, public relations and her personal passion, spirituality. Rain loves exploring small towns like the one she grew up in, especially visiting breweries, donut shops, or anywhere that will allow her to bring her dog. Rain has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic and is a Maine Notary Public.

Hazel Stark

Co-Founder, CEO, Naturalist Educator, Registered Maine Guide

Hazel grew up in the woods of Winterport, Maine, choosing a tent in the forest as her bedroom five months out of the year from age 9 until she left for college at 18. Identifying the tracks, scat, mushrooms, and owl sounds that existed in these woods gave her a deeper appreciation for the natural world and a passion for sharing its wonders with others. This reverence for the outdoors persisted into her studies at College of the Atlantic and into England, where she studied herbal medicine. Realizing that her true passion was in educating people about the natural world took Hazel across the country from California, to Wyoming, to New Hampshire, and back to her home state of Maine. Hazel holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic and a Professional Science Master's degree in Resource Management and Conservation from Antioch University New England. Joseph (Joe) Horn

Co-Founder, Chief Strategist, and Registered Maine Guide

It was through teaching canoeing in high school that Joe first realized the tremendous power of outdoor education to immerse and captivate students in the content of their lessons. Since this early realization, Joe has studied natural history and education from California to Maine, Missouri to Wyoming, and many places in between. Joe graduated from Unity College in Maine with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology. He also earned his Master's of Business Administration in Sustainability and Master's of Environmental Studies with a concentration in Environmental Education at Antioch University New England. When he isn't running payroll or budgeting for MOS in the crepuscular hours or building custom homes as a carpenter by day, Joe can be found somewhere between a babbling trout stream, his kitchen, or on his sailboat seeking solitude, reflection, and intentionality in his everyday life.
